Chef Allyson Harvie created Notre Ferme in 2021 with the mission to build community through thoughtful, local fare. Allyson's culinary genius and accolades alone will have your mouth watering (keep reading!), but Allyson goes beyond making delicious food - she brings authenticity and connection to all those she reaches - including farmers, clients, organizations, and instantly with Caitlin and Kevin.
Kevin and Caitlin were invited to Allyson's home for their wedding tasting where they spent nearly 3 hours getting to know each other. They sat across from Allyson at her kitchen island while she meticulously prepared each course. Allyson even offered to source the couple's favorite fish branzino (which is hard to find!) from her local farmer for the wedding day. Allyson's story actually started on the golf course, not the kitchen. She played golf in college (at The Ohio State University!). As an elite athlete, she loved the focus and precision of golf—and the spark of energy it gave her. That feeling is also why she loves cooking and chose to go down the culinary path.
Allyson's journey as a chef started upon attending Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in San Francisco in 2006. After graduation, she proceeded to refine her skills in fine dining kitchens all around San Francisco, like Delfina, Jardinière, Aqua, and finally as the sous chef at Absinthe.
Fun fact, in 2011, Allyson had the opportunity to compete on The Iron Chef in New York City!
Before creating Notre Ferme, she worked for the outstanding Selland Family Restaurant Group as the Chef de Cuisine (CDC) at The Kitchen Restaurant. One of her proudest moments and most notable professional accomplishments was working on the team at The Kitchen that brought Sacramento its first Michelin star.
