Q + A

What is the wedding weekend schedule?

The wedding schedule is as follows:

Thursday, May 8th: rehearsal / welcome drinks (8-10pm)

Friday, May 9th: wedding day ceremony and reception! (5:30pm - 3am)

Saturday, May 10th: encore, encore! (1pm - 3am)

We’re excited for SO many things about our wedding. But one of the most important things we care about is getting all of this special time with friends and family, many of whom we rarely get to see.

So we decided to have our wedding on Friday, then have Saturday be an all day party where we can spend the whole day hanging out with friends and family.

Where is the wedding?

The wedding will be held in a special location on the Vineyard Ranch (Kevin’s grandparents farm) in Lincoln, CA (about 30 minutes northeast of Sacramento).

The Vineyards moved to Lincoln in 1942 when they were forced to sell their ranch outside of Smartsville to the government for the creation of Beale Air Force Base. Kevin’s Grandfather (Wayne Vineyard) and Uncle (Bill Vineyard, late uncle) started farming when they graduated high school and started Vineyard Brothers in the Mid 50’s. The family business consists of a 500 acre cattle farm and approximately 400 acre rice farm operated daily, by Kevin’s grandpa Wayne and Kevin’s cousins (Jody, Brian and Cole).

Lincoln, CA, was founded in 1859. The town was first established due to the California Central railroad. In 1875 Gladding McBean, a ceramic manufacturing company, was started and for many years was the major employer in Lincoln. Lincoln has experienced rapid growth in recent years with its rise in popularity as a Sacramento suburb and the building of a retirement community.

Kevin's grandparents, Wayne and Barbara Vineyard, are pillars of Placer County agricultural and education community. Several years ago the Vineyard family was recognized for 150 years of farming in California. Wayne has been a farmer 72 years and active in Placer Country Farm Bureau, Placer Farm Supply and the Placer County Fair Board. In 2023 Wayne and Barbara were awarded the California Farm Bureau Distinguished Service award. Barbara served as Sierra College Trustee for 28 years and remains active in the College organization. Both Barbara and Wayne were 4-H leaders for over 50 years and Barbara runs the community hall.

What is the address of the ceremony and reception?

The ceremony and the reception will be held in the same location. Please refer to the map and instructions below. The best address to use as a reference to the area is Kevin’s grandparents house: 3828 Gladding Rd. Lincoln, CA 95648.

Our specific wedding location within the Vineyard Ranch has special meaning. Known as “the dunes,” this is the home of Farm Party, a music festival Kevin launched in 2015 and continues to run with his cousin Courtney and sister Kristen. Farm Party has been a major influence on so many people in the bay area and beyond.

Where should I stay?

A brand new La Quinta Inn just opened 20 minutes from the wedding venue! Kevin’s family knows the owner. We strongly encourage everyone to stay at the hotel! It’s by far the easiest and most convenient. We are working on securing a room block, however we encourage you to book as soon as possible via the link below.

La Quinta Inn and Suites by Wyndham

657 Red Rock Rd.

Lincoln, CA 95648

Shuttle service will be provided for both the Wedding and Encore days. The shuttle will pick up at the hotel and drop off at the farm, making trips back and forth the whole event.

The bride and groom will be staying at the La Quinta, stay with us!

What about an Airbnb?

Airbnbs are available in the area. Shuttle service will not be provided to Airbnbs. We are not confident in Ubers being available. CRITICAL: you won’t be able to take an Uber to or from the wedding location, as it’s not on a map.

If you prefer to stay in an Airbnb, you can either 1) drive to the La Quinta Inn and take the shuttle, then drive from the La Quinta Inn back to your Airbnb after, or 2) drive directly to and from the wedding.

Again, this is why we recommend the hotel!

What airport should I fly into?

Some of you may want to extend your California trip (either before or after the wedding). The closest airports are:

Sacramento (SMF) is the closest airport, a 30 minute drive to Lincoln.

San Francisco airport (SFO) is around a 3 hour drive to Lincoln.

What is the dress code?

Thursday Welcome Drinks: Casual

This event is optional, and informal, at a local bar or restaurant.

Friday Ceremony and Reception: Farm Chic - cowboy boots and bolo ties encouraged!

The ceremony will be followed by cocktail hour, a formal plated dinner, and dancing.

Shoes: there will be flooring in the dance floor area, however guests will need to walk on uneven farm ground throughout the event, therefore flats, block heels, wedges or cowboy boots are recommended. Wear anything comfortable for walking and dancing.

Coats: we know you will all be heating up the dance floor, but the farm gets cold at night. We will have heat lamps and a fire pit, but you will want to bring a jacket. Furs are a great, fun option, or anything that keeps you warm. We will have space to store your jackets.

Saturday Encore: Casual, Farm Festive - bring your farm flare!

The encore is a special, curated, day on the farm. Think farm tours, food trucks, DJ’s and dancing from afternoon into the night.

This event takes place in the same location as the reception. We will have flooring in the dance floor area.

Again, wear comfortable shoes and bring a jacket for the night!

Is there transportation?

Yes! There will be shuttle service to and from the La Quinta Inn on both Friday and Saturday.

Shuttles will be making loops back and forth between the La Quinta Inn and the Farm all night long (about a 20 minute drive each way).

Do I need a rental car?

Likely not, if you're only coming for the wedding weekend. Wedding festivities will take up the majority of the schedule. However if you want to do activities in the Lincoln area outside of the wedding you may want a car. Ubers should be available to and from the airport, as well as to get around the town.

If you're extending your California trip either before or after the wedding, you'll likely want a car.

Is there parking at the ceremony?

Yep! For those who drive, follow the map below. You’ll be greeted by security who will show you where to park. It’s then a short walk from parking to the ceremony area.

Will the wedding be inside or outside? What is the weather like?

The ceremony and the reception will take place outside. The ceremony will be held in an open field area without shade - wear sunscreen! The reception will be within walking distance. There will be heat lamps in the evening.

Typical weather this time of the year is 80s during the day, then pretty quickly after sunset drops down to the 60s or colder.

The weather on the farm should be perfect during the day, but it does get cold when the sun goes down. We will have heat lamps and a fire pit, but you should bring a warm coat - furs are great on the farm at night. We will have coat racks available upon arrival.
